How Refunzo Works | Two Steps to Get Reimbursed
Home / How it works

Two steps. The first is free forever, the second is optional.

Refunzo connects to Seller Central, checks your account against 21 checkpoints, and shows you what Amazon owes. You can file every case yourself at no cost, or let Refunzo file for 15% of what's recovered, capped at $5,000 per account.

Step 1 — Free, forever

Reconcile your account

01

Connect your Seller Central account through Amazon's own authorization flow. No password sharing.

02

Refunzo runs a comprehensive scan across 21 checkpoints spanning shipments, inventory, payments, fees, and refunds.

03

You get a detailed report with a substantiated estimate of what Amazon owes, broken out by checkpoint.

Step 2 — Optional

File the claims

01

Authenticate a card. It's charged nothing at this point, it's only held on file.

02

Refunzo logs a support case with Amazon per checkpoint, substantiates it with the retrieved evidence, and tracks it individually.

03

Refunzo follows up until Amazon resolves the case, appealing denials where the evidence supports it.

04

Amazon credits your bank directly. Only then are you charged 15% of that payout, capped at $5,000 per account.

The 2026 reality

Three changes make one-time cleanups obsolete and monitoring the only strategy that keeps working.

Cost-based reimbursements

Since March 2025, Amazon reimburses lost and damaged inventory at your manufacturing cost, not sale price. If your cost fields are blank, Amazon substitutes its own lower estimate, and pays that instead.

~60-day claim windows

Most discrepancy types have to be filed within roughly 60 days of the event. A quarterly or annual audit habit misses most of what's owed by the time anyone looks.

Auto-reimbursements have gaps

Amazon's automation reimburses the simple, high-volume cases on its own. It misses the complex, multi-step discrepancies, which is where continuous monitoring earns its keep.

Proof of delivery retrieval

Most inbound-shipment claims get denied for missing documentation, not because the loss isn't real. Refunzo retrieves proof of delivery directly from the carrier so the evidence is already attached when the case is filed.
